New Penzance is a Photography, Art and Writing competition led by & for the young people of the town. The main aim of the competition is to encourage & engage with the many under twenty fives in the area.

If you feel you have the potential, live in and around Penzance and are interested in winning one of the great prizes on offer, then get involved. There are three categories to choose from, art, photography and writing.

The competition is open to anyone under the age of twenty-five.

All shortlisted entries will be exhibited at PZ Gallery, Coinage Hall Steet, PZ.

Exhibition: 6th - 11th April

How would you best describe the atmosphere of Penzance?

Your submission can be in any format ie: canvas, mixed media, sculpture. Just take a photo of your finished piece and enter it using the submission form (coming soon).

The winner gets an exhibition dedicated to their work, organised and paid for by New Penzance.

Penzance in 2009, do you love it or hate it?

Answer this question in a photo. You can submit a maximum of 3 photographs per person.

writing:

 

Choose either of the briefs and apply the question to writing.

Your submission can be in any form of writing ie: poem, fiction, non-fiction, documentary style etc. The only rule is that it can’t exceed 1000 words.

The winning entry will be published in a forthcoming book.
